What does it cost to rent a G-Class? (and alternatives)

Boxy, powerful, unmistakable: the Mercedes G-Class – above all the G 63 AMG – is a genuine status symbol and a popular rental for special occasions, shoots and a grand entrance. But what does it actually cost to rent a G-Class? And what alternatives are there if you want to make a similarly representative impression? Here's an honest overview.
What makes the G-Class so coveted?
The G-Class unites off-road icon and luxury SUV: the distinctive, almost unchanged design over decades, a powerful V8 in the G 63 AMG and an interior on an upper-class level. This mix of presence and exclusivity makes it a head-turner – and correspondingly in demand at rental companies.
What does a G-Class rental cost?
Prices vary widely by provider, model, season and rental length. In Germany, daily rates for a G 63 AMG are usually somewhere between around €400 and €750 per day, with shorter rentals costing more per day. Deposits often start at about €3,000, and extra kilometres are charged separately. These are typical ranges, not fixed prices – the specific offer of the respective provider is always what's binding.
Not currently in our fleet
To stay honest: we don't currently offer a G-Class. We deliberately keep a compact, curated selection that we hold technically flawless and instantly available – rather than a huge fleet, we prefer a few well-kept cars.
Our alternatives for a grand entrance
For an equally representative, composed entrance we have two first-class luxury saloons: the Audi A8 L and the Mercedes E-Class – from €130 per day, in black, discreet and bookable online. More on the rent a luxury car in Frankfurt page.

View detailsWho is the G-Class for?
The G-Class is aimed above all at anyone after an eye-catching statement – for music videos, photo shoots or a particularly prestigious entrance, for instance. Anyone who instead prioritises comfort, elegance and good value usually does better with a luxury saloon. So before booking it's worth honestly considering what really matters to you for the occasion.
G-Class vs. luxury saloon
The G-Class relies on presence through height and boxy design – an SUV that stands out. A luxury saloon like the A8 L or E-Class feels more elegant and understated by contrast, yet offers the same representative character, often more ride comfort and a considerably lower daily rate. For weddings, business meetings and VIP transfers the saloon is in many cases the more practical and stylish choice, while the G-Class is above all a statement for shoots and show occasions.
What to look out for when renting
Anyone who still wants to rent a G-Class should watch the total cost: high deposit, often limited free kilometres and expensive extra kilometres, plus a high minimum age. Always compare whether comprehensive cover is included and how high the excess is. With our luxury saloons all of this is transparently arranged – with no hidden costs and a refundable deposit without a credit-card requirement.
Conclusion
Renting a G-Class is possible but costly – and not on offer with us at the moment. If you value an elegant, representative entrance, our A8 L or E-Class serve you excellently. Simply check availability for your occasion.
